What is a Neighborhood Association?
A City recognized volunteer group that represents residents, businesses, and other stakeholders in a given neighborhood. An association brings neighbors together for social events to build relationships.
It is NOT a homeowners' association (HOA). It holds no legal authority or enforcement power to tell anyone what to do with their property.
Nobody gets paid by the association. Volunteers dedicate whatever time they are able and willing to spend. Volunteers decide if and how they want to participate.
What is a Watch Group?
A volunteer group made up of citizens who want to keep their neighborhood safe.
The Neighborhood Watch concept centers on the community and police working together for the safety and protection of a neighborhood.
Neighborhood Watch groups are a foundation of community crime prevention, can be a stepping stone to community revitalization, and are one of the most effective and least costly answers to crime.
